Georgia's National Statistics Office (Geostat) has published its annual data on what employees earn. In 2025 the average monthly nominal salary was 2,165.2 GEL, which is 194.5 GEL or 9.9% more than in 2024.

Who earns what

Women earned 1,743.4 GEL a month on average (up 9.5%) and men 2,586.5 GEL (up 10.5%). Geostat notes that men earn more than women in every occupation group.

The best-paid sectors were:

  • financial and insurance activities: 4,123.6 GEL (up 12.1%),
  • information and communication: 4,042.6 GEL (up 3.0%),
  • construction: 3,026.1 GEL (up 13.5%).

By region, earnings were highest in Tbilisi and in Mtskheta-Mtianeti.

By occupation

A second Geostat release, published on 30 October 2026, breaks the 2025 figures down by occupation. Managers earned the most, 3,609 GEL a month on average, while elementary occupations earned the least, 1,132 GEL. The average yearly labour cost of one employee was 26,671 GEL.

Why this matters for students

These figures are averages for all employees, not student wages. They still show how the job market is moving: pay is rising, and the strongest salaries are in finance, IT and construction, fields many international graduates aim for.
